Advanced Storage Features

Builds a high-level data protection mechanism with instant snapshot ROW, linked clone, EC, multiple copies, and failure domain, and enables proper hardware resource utilization with thin provisioning, space recycling, and hierarchical storage. 

  • EC

    Ensures data reliability via a small amount of redundant information and exchanges more spaces with the CPU computing time. This obtains more effective storage capacity than the multi-copy mechanism.

  • Instant Snapshot ROW 

    When the source system receives a data write request, it redirects the updated original data pointer in the data pointer table of the source data volume to the new storage space.

  • Multiple Copies

    All data is stored as multiple copies and distributed on different storage nodes. The business continuity is not affected if a single storage node is damaged. The number of copies is configurable.

  • Thin Provisioning

    Provides applications with more virtual storage resources than actual physical storage, which significantly improves the storage space utilization.

  • Linked Clone 

    Creates multiple volumes based on one volume snapshot. The cloned volumes have a pointer that points to the original volume snapshot. Therefore, modifying a cloned volumes does not affect the original snapshot.
